COVID-19 & Technology
Education is among the sectors that have been hit hardest by the pandemic. The pandemic forced schools around the world to shut their doors. Unfortunately, it did not discriminate between traditional schools and Montessori schools.
This is why teaching children through technology has become — for a time — a necessity. Many Montessori educators have adapted by:
- Providing **short, live video sessions** with the teacher rather than pre-recorded content.
- Sending parents **structured "shelf-work" guides** so practical life and sensorial work can continue at home.
- Using video only as a connector between humans, not as a content-delivery machine.
The lesson is clear: even in a crisis, **the human relationship remains the heart of Montessori education**.
