The Basic Brain Architecture — Building a Strong Foundation
The new pathways that are opened in the child's brain keep getting **reinforced and strengthened** with time. These pathways become significant routes for relaying information.
Through this process, the brain develops what neuroscientists call the **Basic Brain Architecture** — the **resultant network of critical, newly-formed nerve channels** inside the brain.
This foundational architecture is largely **completed by six years of age**, and it serves the child for the rest of their life. This is why the first six years are sometimes called the **golden years** of brain development.
