Dr. Maria Montessori and Her Observational Approaches
As a scientist first, Dr. Montessori began her work with **children with special needs**. She used her observational skills to learn about them — patiently watching, recording, and resisting the urge to interfere.
The Montessori approach implies that **instead of guiding the child to perform certain actions, we should allow the child to explore and learn through their own interaction with the environment**.
With this approach, she sought to understand the children's natural growth and development patterns. Later, she devised a complete educational program built on the patterns her observations revealed.
