4. How to Practice Patience & Have Fun with the Child's Involvement

When a parent involves a child in daily household activities, things change a lot. For example, a mother who would spend five minutes cleaning the kitchen counter will need to spend much longer doing so once her child is involved. Although involving a child means investing extra time, it is worth it in the end — this is how the child learns and prepares for the life ahead. Some ideas that can be deployed in daily practical life practice include: - **Cooking together** — measuring, pouring, washing vegetables. - **Setting the table** — counting, sorting, and placing items. - **Doing the laundry** — sorting clothes by colour, folding small items. - **Watering the plants** — pouring control and care for living things. - **Cleaning spills** — independence and responsibility. - **Dusting and sweeping** — coordination and care of the environment.
